I first met the Mogambo courtesy of the Daily Reckoning

The Daily Reckoning is a free newsletter than anyone can subscribe to and in my mind of thinking it is one of the most brilliant free resources on the Internet.

The Mogambo, Richard Dougherty to the enlightened, writes with a style that I can relate to. I wrote my own Soapbox for a few years on anything that just pissed me off and I mailed a whole bunch of hapless people my diatribe on a semi regular basis. Eventually I gave it up because I found I had nothing new to say...

But the Mogambo always has something new to say. Or, more accurately, he has a new way of saying the same old thing. Which runs along the lines of "We're Freaking Doomed you Morons" and the scary thing is this: I believe him!

But Richard writes in a way that keeps me in stitches whilst understanding very easily the real message that he is trying to portray. Not living in America, it is perhaps easier to see things as they are. I am not exposed to the same press that Americans have to choke down daily. And that, according to things Mogambo, can only be a good thing!

I highly recommend that you sign up to the Daily Reckoning. Their sister publication the Rude Awakening is just as good - I read these missives every day in the bath. It really is big trend identification stuff and Dan Denning from Strategic Investment  has been spot on with his predictions thus far. If nothing else it will open your mind to an alternate view point

As always timing is everything. Get the timing right and the predictions right and that's all there is to becoming a billionaire in short order. It's a lesson I have still to perfect I confess! Oh, and it helps to have nerves of steel...
